So whats is an Aalimah program?
The Alimah Program is principally designed for students who wish to study the Islamic sciences in-depth, attain reading fluency in classical Arabic, and are motivated to commit about 12 hours per week.
The program is based on the traditional curriculum of the ‘Alimah course’, and provides a firm and broad basis in all of the main disciplines of classical Islamic scholarship:
Arabic language and its various sciences, Commentary of the entire Qur’an, Hadith, Islamic Law (Fiqh), Principles of Legal Methodology (Usul al-Fiqh), Beliefs (Aqeedah), Seerah, Shamail, Contemporary Issues, and Islamic Spirituality.
Though the program itself is for English-speaking students, students will be moved slowly to Arabic reading fluency so that they can study the different disciplines in the language of the scholars. This will typically involve covering various classical Arabic manuals in each Islamic discipline, thereby giving students a taste of the rich academic tradition.
I dont know about you, but for me menakutkan jugakla bunyi nya. But I guess being at home, this is the opportunity not to be missed. I always wanted to learn this deen deeply, so Alhamdullillah for the opportunity.
Actually there's fews institute that offer this free Aalimah course.. yes, its a free course. There's Maryam Institute, Zaynab Institute, Nawal Academy. I chose Hannanah Academy simply because the timing is right. Waktu belajar is from 12-330pm. Maryam Institute kelas adalah malam starts at 11pm, while Zaynab Institute kelas starts at 3am.
The classes just started last week. Alhamdullillah. So far so good. I like tafseer and Tajweed classes. Mungkin sbb Ada basic so senang Faham. Hadith is so interesting, tapi mengenangkan konsep exam kena hafal dan explain terus jadi kecut. Fiqh is about ruling, puasa solat etc, yg uniknya adalah based on mazhab Hanafi. Pening la jgk but bole je terima. Mcm Hanafi, solat Witr is waiib. They hv they own stand why is that so, makanya, interesting jgk. Kata nak belajar kan.. Arabic, morphology and grammar is huhuhuu.. But this is like a dream come true la. Nk sgt belajar so Allah makbulkan.
For this 1st semester, only 5 of us registered. Classmate are all from Australia, 3 are Pakistani, one Dutch, from Netherland but stay in Australia. All of us are housewife, tapi semua pon ada master. Hebat jugak masing-masing.. hehee.. Teacher plak, for Alimah Maryam, she's an MD. Lepas jadi Doc, dia take a break and study Islamic. She still practice but partimely Dr, and fulltime teacher.. Kagum-kagum... Exam will be in January. May Allah make ease in this journey to learn Deen in depth. Ameen...
