Du’a Workshop day2.

Etiquette of du’a
1.ask for dunya once, and twice for the hereafter.. because akhirah is our main purpose. Albaqarah, ayah 201 - Rabbana attinna fiddunya hasanah - one for dunya; wafil akhira ti hasanah - one for akhirat; wa qina azabanar - another one for akhirah.
2.Ikhlas- comes from the heart. know what you’re saying. not just in tongue.
3.Having positive thought towards the du’a. Husnuzon towards Allah. Everything is in His knowledge, He response.
4.Praise Allah in the beginning of du’a (use the asmaul husna - Ar-Rahman, Ar-Raheem). salawat towards Rasullullah, and again praise Allah at the end of the du’a.
5.Face qibla, sunnah but not a must.
6.State of purity - clean, wuduq
7.Perform a good deed to increase the chance for the du'a to be accepted
8.Make same du'a repeatedly - showing seriousness
9.Recommended to say Ameen
10.Make du’a in firm conviction - DONT say “Oo., Allah forgive me if you will”.

Mustajab time for du’a - important so that our du’a will be answered by Allah
-Last one third of the night
-First 10days of Zulhijjah, the day of Arafah
-Time during adzan and iqomah
-During sajdah, prostration
-There is a moment on Friday (very short moment of time) - scholars opinion: i. right before Maghrib, ii. the imam sit between the two khutbah, iii. between iqomah and Friday prayer.
-the month of Ramadan - the month of Quran, the month of forgiveness (the gate of heavens is open)
-the last 10 night of Ramadan
- Lailatul Qadr
-at MasjidilHaram, while looking at the Qaabah

Type of people that their du’a never rejected by Allah:
i. fasting people that about to break the fast - NOTE THIS!!! == FOCUS on seeking forgiveness (very crucial time but people tend to take for granted - chitchat, gossiping at the dining table, focus on food - rather than making du’a - prepare list of du'a beside you so you not forget to make du'a)
ii. just ruler
iii. the one who is oppress iv. du’a of a traveller v. du’a from a father to his son - mother by nature is loving - father is hard to have a consistency relationship with children - so this hadis is to encourage the father to appreciate his children.
vi. a righteous off-spring for his parents - Hadis Rasulullah; When a man die, he left everything except 3 - one of it is the righteous child that pray for them. vii. the du’a of the one who’s Allah love = living your life based on how Allah want. Obligate to Allah to obtain Allah love. Albaqarah ayah 186.

Du’a not accepted
- indulge in haraam life-style asking for sin not hasty in making du’a
- losing interest of making du’a when do not seeing any progress, do not give up in making du’a, - normally worldly matter - Allah know what is the best for us. The result of the du’a is based on Allah knowledge - which is the BEST for us.

How Allah response du’a: Allah will gave exactly how one is asking Allah save for the hereafter Not exactly what you want but Allah protecting us from harm/calamity, remove evil from you.

Ask Allah more - do not give up - everything belongs to Him. He will not go out of penny due to our request.
Make du’a every steps that we take. He definitely response as long it is sincerely and properly. Delay in response: During calamity, most of us make du’a. The result might be delay as it is the test - Albaqarah, 214. how content are we with the du’a our firmness, patient..

== remain steadfast. never despair - Allah is rewarding you for that. Story of Nabi Yaakub. Fasobruljameel, Allahumasta’an.

InsyaAllah will continue with the final part of Du'a Workshop tomorrow.

Dua workshop pt1

Alhamdullillah. I love online class, especially when it is free. smile emoticon
And thank you Allah for the oppurtunity.
Dua Workshop- day1 notes.
Believers are unique as we turn to Allah all times. We make dua not only during hardship but also during pleasure.
If you see yourself making dua only when calamity comes, this shown you’re in the state of weakest of imaan.
When you turn to Allah during ease and pleasure, He will listen to your pray during your hardship.
Firauns make dua during a hardship but his prayer was rejected because all his lifetime he refuse to worship Allah - Yunus, ayah90.
Dua should be part of our life because that means we are connected to our Creator all the time. We are relying to Allah all the times, good or bad.
What is dua?
Linguistic - is to call out to someone for something, to request
Religiously - dua is only to Allah. Asking, pleaded Him, cannot be request from other than Allah.
Dua is an act of worship. The essence of solat is we read Al-Fatihah, which is a dua.
Can we asking from other people for help:
if something to do for akhirat - Jannah, success . MUST only ask from Allah.
if only Allah is in control - rain, sunshine. Must only ask from Allah
if regarding dunya, this is permissible but they are only means not for us to depend on. but still hv to make dua so that Allah will provide the means to help us.
Dua teach us about the Laillahaillallah. We depends in Allah alone, not other.
Benefit making dua:
A. Nobel indication of tauhid.
Making dua is a perfection of tauhid. Tauhid - oneness of Allah.
i. tauhid rubudiah - Allah is the Rabb, He sustain everything, so we wanted Allah to provide for us.
ii. tauhid uluhiyah- demonstrating we worship Allah alone.
iii. tauhid al-asmaul husna- affirming the beautiful names and attributes of Allah swt
One of effective way of making dua is using the names of Allah.
Low your self while making dua. Be humble.
B. Emotion to Allah
Fear - knowing His punishment, fear of not getting what we wants, so we will ask more, and make more dua.
Hope - His rewards, respond.
Love - combination of fear and hope. You call out Him, during ease and pain due to love.
C. Showing our true nature - that we are weak, faqir.
The more we show our nature to Allah, He’ll show His nature to us - His power, His greatness.. He will answered our prayers.
We need Allah - all times - this life and the next life.
D. Reminder of our limitation as human being and a reminder that Allah is limitless, His greatness.
Lahaulawalaquwataillahbillah.. Allah control everything. whatever we want in life - taufiq, hidayah, must make dua ask from Allah. Only He can give. He is the King of kings.
E. Dua makes everything possible. Increase conviction of dua - we look on power of Allah. Increase imaan as we depend on Allah.
F. Affirming our believe of qadr. Everything is in His hand.
Conclusion: Dua - sunnah of anbiyak, practise of the believers, increase our imaan.
Will continue tomorrow same time 1215pm for day2 Dua Workshop. InsyaAllah.

How to Spend Ramadan

Alhamdullillah. Slept early and siap set jam lagi for this workshop.
Tis is some notes that I manage to write down. ‪#‎sharingilm‬.
Setting Ramadan Goals:
Goal is not a wish. We follow our goal. It makes us more pro-active.
Must make goal in Ramadan, hv objectives so that we’re not too engage with daily situation/chores and the next time you know the Ramadan is almost or gone.
Write down your goals. Be serious. Put it at a place that you see everyday, so that you are conscious with your Ramadan direction and will work towards the goal.
Allah has set goal for us — fasting so that you may become taqwa, righteous (2:183). So whatever our goals are — main thing is to achieve taqwa — aim for Janna. Like, we want to khatam Quran - why? to be righteous, to be near to Allah, to achieve taqwa and Janna as the last resort.. not just following what other people are doing.
Burden of goals: I can’t, it's hard. To overcome:
-always pray to Allah to ease the way. Only He can give. Lahawlawalaquwataillabilla
-purify your niyah.. for the sake of Allah NOT for people (showing off, because everyone do it. etc.)
-focus and concentrate (63:9)
What ramadan really is:
-is a month full of barakah, bless, and forgiveness
-month of Quran (first sent down, and later established (all))
-month of sabr (not just fasting, sabr for doing good, sabr in staying away from sins, and things that lead to sins) and the rewards is Janna
how to get the Best of the Ramadan:
-look back to our previous ramadan. do we want to repeat the same? just be like the previous year for the rest of our live?
1-plan what kind of ramadan we want. This is sort of a niyah we representing to Allah. plan well. makes goal.
2-prepare to archives the goal. don’t waste time. prepare now!!
3-purify ourselves. Make tawba- each day, night, everytime. Ya Allah, I’m sorry.. admit our mistake to Him to purify ourselves. istigfar ever single minutes.
4-protect and prevent ourselves from sins. Fast not just our belly but every part of our body is fasting - the ears, mouth, eyes. avoid social network if you hv to.
5-develop feeling with the ibadah. not just routine, ritual. wake up for sohur, not just to eat but tahajud. breakfasting, sharing foods with others. Not just read Quran to khatam but connect/ponder what Allah is saying. Increase your dua.
6-ponder the stories of the sahabi how they celebrated ramadan.
7-pick an exclusive time to talk heart-to-heart with Allah. Make sincere dua. cry if we can. make a special 2 rakat salah for the sake of Allah. Syukr.
And the Ustadzha make a very long dua at the end of the class, that makes me cry. Subhanallah. May He reward the teachers and make us have the Best in this Ramadan.

Do we need a mazhab?

Alhamdullillah for the opportunity.
It was like a very last minute arrangement, sbb Mat xde, and if I go, I hv to drag along the three, and ya, I did drag along the three. Mula duduk dalam, but then settled kat luar bcos the kids need to burn their energy.

Regarding the lecture:
1. do we need mazhab? - as an orang awam, yes, we do need to follow (taqlid) to one of the 4 scholars unless we are able to ijtihad. Ijtihad maksud nya berusaha bersungguh-sungguh to learn the details of the deen, and knew which act is fall in the law (syara') of wajib, mandub, mubah, makruh and/or haram.

2. why there is only 4 mazhab? - these 4 is complete school based on the explanation of the Quran and Hadist and not contradict with the ahli sunnah wal jamaah. There are other school, but they're half bake/not complete, so they never survive. Complete as cover over all. - we need to follow only one, becos, each from the 4 is complete, and we cant mix them up, becos each mazhab stands in its own principal.

3. can we just take only from the Quran and Hadist? - Islam is Not do-it-yourself religion. Main thing about this deen is one need to have a real-life teacher in order to know the knowledge. Any hukum cannot just read and act on it, without referring to ahli ilmu. Bimbang (sendiri) jatuh sesat dan menyesatkan (orang lain).

Ini serba sedikit what I get from the lecture. Balik awal sebenarnya sbb the kids start to scream and make noise. Mana yg baik datangnya dr Allah, dan mana yg buruk it is from me. Do correct me if I am wrong. Thank you.
